Trip to Vrancea: Wine Tasting, the Alexandru Vlahuță House, and the Podul Bulgarului Monastery—Departing from Bucharest
About This Tour
Leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind and set out on a fascinating journey through the Vrancea region, a place where tradition, culture, and idyllic landscapes blend harmoniously. The first part of the day takes you to the Alexandru Vlahuță Memorial House in Dragosloveni, a uniquely charming estate hidden among the vineyards. Here you’ll step into the intimate world of the author of *Picturesque Romania*, discovering the authentic atmosphere of a traditional house with a porch that once hosted great figures of our culture, such as I.L. Caragiale, B.Ș. Delavrancea, and Nicolae Grigorescu.
The adventure continues with an unforgettable sensory experience right in the heart of the Vrancea Vineyard. Amid the sun-kissed hills, you’ll be greeted with a smile and a glass of sparkling wine, followed by a tour and a refined tasting led by a sommelier. You’ll savor top-quality wines, ranging from dry white and rosé to a sweet dessert wine, perfectly paired with delicious platters of cheese, pastrami, and homemade bread. It’s the ideal opportunity to discover the stories and flavors of a terroir with a history spanning centuries.
Toward the end of the day, you’ll enjoy a moment of absolute tranquility at Podul Bulgarului Monastery, a place of worship steeped in spiritual significance. Set in a picturesque natural setting, its wooden church will impress you with its simplicity and beauty, offering you the perfect sense of tranquility before your journey home.
