About This Tour

The main attraction of the day will transport you to a setting that seems to be from another planet. At the Mud Volcanoes, you’ll be able to observe how gases from deep underground bring clay to the surface, forming active cones and craters in a striking lunar-like landscape. The journey continues with a captivating hike to the Babele de la Ulmet, mysterious rock formations weathered into bizarre shapes by the elements, which stand as a testament to nature’s creative power.
To round out this experience, the itinerary also includes a stop at Schitul Berca, a place of contemplation hidden away in a peaceful natural setting. Built in the 17th century, this hermitage preserves the calm atmosphere and traditional architecture of bygone eras, offering a moment of peace and spiritual relaxation before heading home. The estimated duration is approximately 12–14 hours. Participation requires a valid ID card (CI). During the hot season, we recommend wearing casual, lightweight clothing suitable for high temperatures, and don’t forget to stay hydrated, which is essential for your well-being. Useful tips:
- Required gear: Comfortable shoes with non-slip soles are absolutely necessary, as the terrain around the volcanoes is slippery, and the visit to the trovanți involves a light hike over rough terrain.
