Day Trip – Gura Portiței & Jurilovca
About This Tour
Escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a unique experience in one of Romania’s most secluded and beautiful corners. Leaving the city of Constanța behind, we head toward Jurilovca, a picturesque gateway to the wild heart of the waters. From here, the adventure truly comes to life: we’ll board speedboats to navigate through the green labyrinth of the Danube Delta. The landscape will captivate you at every turn, with our first stop at Cape Doloșman, the only rocky cliff on the Romanian coast—a place where the ancient ruins of the Argamum fortress overlook the vast expanse of water.
As you sail on toward Bisericuța Island, you’ll have the chance to admire nature in its purest form and observe the pelican colonies before reaching the day’s main destination: Gura Portiței. Here you’ll discover an absolute oasis of tranquility—a narrow strip of sand separating the waves of the Black Sea from the calm waters of the Golovița Lagoon. You’ll have free time to relax on the well-maintained beach, take a refreshing swim, or explore the wild surroundings at your own pace.
The visual experience is perfectly complemented by a culinary one. We’ll enjoy an authentic lunch served at a hospitable farmhouse inn, where traditional fish borscht and local wine will delight your senses. On the way back, the route will take us along Canal 5, an ideal sanctuary for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. Depending on how much time we have left, the day can end with a brief cultural stop at the Lipovenească Church and the tourist harbor, rounding out a perfect weekend getaway.
