Our journey begins in the heart of Bulgaria, in Shumen, a city of epic significance in the history of the Bulgarian state. Here we’ll climb up to the Shumen Fortress, a site once inhabited by the Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, and Bulgarians, which will offer us a spectacular panoramic view and the chance for a short stroll along its historic paths. Here, we’ll also be impressed by the 1,300 Years of Bulgaria Monument, the only structure in the world that visually depicts a country’s history from its founding to the present day, serving as a true symbol of national identity.
The adventure continues in a fairytale-like natural setting at the Madara Historical and Archaeological Reserve, an area also known as the “Troia of Bulgaria.” Here we’ll admire the Madara Rider, an ancient bas-relief carved directly into the sheer cliff face—a world-renowned masterpiece protected by UNESCO. The route will then take us along shaded forest paths, past monasteries carved into the rock, to the Sanctuary of the Nymphs, a place with a soothing atmosphere and renowned healing energy. This trip is the perfect getaway to recharge your batteries and discover, step by step, the raw beauty of our southern neighbors.

Essential Information
Departure is at 6:00 a.m. from Constanța, with an estimated return time around 9:00 p.m. (depending on traffic and the route). The estimated duration is 15 hours. Participation requires a valid ID card or passport. Seats on the bus are assigned starting with the second row, strictly in the order in which the deposit was paid. During the hot season, we recommend wearing casual, lightweight clothing suitable for high temperatures, and don’t forget to stay hydrated, which is essential for your well-being. Minors between the ages of 0 and 18 must carry an ID proving their age and the legal documents required to leave the country (a notarized power of attorney if they are not accompanied by both parents). The tour involves short outdoor hikes on uneven terrain and is not recommended for people with limited mobility. To pay the entrance fees at the attractions, we recommend that you have euros on hand. The itinerary and times are approximate, and participants are asked to be punctual, as the group cannot wait for individuals who are late.
